Dubai-Based Contractor to Construct Wynn’s UAE Resort Set to Open in 2027

Wynn Resorts Ltd, a globally recognized developer of high-quality hotels and casinos announced Thursday that the construction of its casino-complex project in the United Arab Emirates set to open in 2027 has been entrusted to Dubai-based ALEC Engineering and Contracting LLC.

Preparing the Exotic Persian Gulf Site:

Wynn also confirmed that preparatory works for the new venture had already started on the site. GGRAsia reports that Bauer International FZE, a Germany-based foundation work specialist, has been contracted to perform “piling and enabling works” for the casino resort. The source also informed that  “Bauer has begun construction preparation on the project site.”

The hotel-casino site is located on Al Marjan Island, a group of 4 coral-shaped islands in a man-made archipelago located in Al Jazirah Al Hamra, Ras Al Khaimah Emirate of the United Arab Emirates. The breathtaking island, apparently carefully selected for the ambitious project, is administered by the Al Marjan Island Company, which vertical Marjan Properties is now involved in Wynn’s development deal.

Middle-East Partners:

Indeed, having announced the common engagement in Middle East projects with local companies already in January 2022, Wynn Resorts has partnered up with the developer Marjan Properties and hotel and leisure business operator RAK Hospitality Holding LLC to construct high-quality hotel-casino facilities in attractive and exotic surroundings.  The $ 2 billion facility will include entertainment and gaming space in the enchanting Al Marjan archipelago in the Emirate Ras Al Khaimah.

Las Vegas-based developer will be an equity partner to the Middle-East companies and operator of the resort. The Ras Al Khaimah project – scheduled to open in early 2027 –  will be named ‘Wynn Resort,’ as the source transfers the joint press release from Marjan, RAK Hospitality Holding, and Wynn Resorts made available Thursday.

Addition to Prestigious Portfolio:

The source also informs that the resort will include “a 1,000-plus room hotel, high-end shopping mall, a state-of-the-art meeting and convention facility, an exclusive spa, more than 10 restaurants and lounges, a wide array of entertainment choices, gaming area, and other amenities”. Wynn Resorts, which is a parent of Macau casino operator Wynn Macau Ltd, will thus add another brick-and-mortar facility to its development portfolio consisting of top-tier casino resorts across the prestigious world destinations.

The development scheduled to break ground soon is in line with the earlier announcements of Wynn Resorts’ executives. In the Q4 2022 earnings call, the company’s chief executive Craig Billings informed that the operator was  “in the late stages of programming” the Ras Al Khaimah hotel-casino complex. “I expect we will be driving piles for the foundation of the property by the middle of the year,” Billings said on the occasion, reports the source. According to Thursday’s announcement, Wynn Resorts has come to the point.
